Public Schools

An elementary or high school funded completely by the government or partly by the government and partly by individuals establishing the school is termed as a 'public school'. Here, education is offered to children of the community or district without charging any fee or a nominal fee in some cases.

In India, public schools follow a state-board curriculum or a national curriculum like CBSE or ICSE and provide an environment and infrastructure on par with many private schools. Many parents prefer these schools to private schools due to the marked difference in the fee-structure for comparable facilities and education.

These schools are available in most parts of the country including rural areas and aim at providing progressive education in terms of modernity while basing them on traditional ethos.

The rules and regulations followed and selection of staff and head of the institution is done by the government. Some state government\'s wave-off fees based on economic background and attract children from poorer classes by offering mid-day meals.

By law, public schools cannot refuse admission to children residing within a certain jurisdiction. Admission procedures are rather simple and involve filling out few forms and providing an address proof.

Experienced and qualifies teachers to innovate teaching methods, make teaching-learning interactive and use infrastructure like laboratories, activity-rooms, music and art facilities and computers effectively to provide wholesome education and blossoming innate creativity in students. They are encouraged to participate in sports and physical education and also becoming members of NCC, Scouts, and Guides to hone their leadership qualities, camaraderie and a spirit of nationalism.

Parents and teachers work in unison to mold and shape these young minds. Kids are enrolled in these schools with a hope of ensuring a berth in reputed engineering/medical colleges or other institutes offering degrees which will secure their child’s future with regard to better job opportunities or chances to pursue higher studies.
